Camper Crazy

I’ve done some serious retail therapy over the last month

And last weekend I went Camper crazy!

Camper is a Spanish shoe company that I’ve been wearing for many years, since back in the day when I was living in Spain (and they weren’t known outside the country), since when I can remember.

Their shoes are made from good quality leather, comfortable with funky styles sometimes, normally not just your plain old shoe although there are some styles like that as well.

They have been copied many many times.

And I particularly like “their philosophy” and I’m proud that a shoe Spanish company is doing great around the world.

From the website:

“Camper is more than a shoe company, it is the dream of a Majorcan family who have been manufacturing shoes since 1877. It is a Mediterranean dream that establishes a way of being, of living and of feeling. Their dream combines traditional roots with an industrial vocation and has led Camper throughout the world. Camper shoes have a spirit and personality of their own, presenting a diverse range of footwear that combines design with imagination and functionality. They are unique and original, and constantly surprise. The slogan “Walk. Don’t Run” expresses the Camper philosophy of slow living and their appreciation and attention to detail. These are values that are found in the original designs created with the passion and flavour of the Mediterranean.”

Last weekend, I was just browsing the internet for good final sales. I checked an online shoes shop that is affiliated with Amazon called Javari.

The offer free next day delivery, which is never a bad thing. I’ve used it already a couple of times in the uk and the delivery IS that fast. In the US the equivalent would be http://www.endless.com

So these are the shoes I bought, real bargains:

My new pairs of Camper sandals

They are both high heels. The most popular Camper shoes are flat but in the last  years they have also pretty comfortable high heel shoes as well.

The grey/light beige model is a wedge which I particularly like because I can stand and walk on them all day without my feet/legs suffering from them.

They were £42 instead of £90. Not bad.

The red ones are more of a coral tone. They have a crazy heel for me but they also have a platform and at least when I walked around the house I could manage. I love the color and the detail. They have a retro look I think.

These were even cheaper: £35 instead of £90. Not bad at all, I’d say!

Camper Danae wedge sandal in Black

These blacks ones I got them last month from theactual storein Oxford St.  for a work-related event (there’s always a good excuse to buy shoes anyway, right?). They are very comfortable and a bit chunky, which I like.

They have a pretty sole detail as well. Most Camper shoes have some sort of creative sole.

These were £55 instead of £90.

I have to say that Javari is worth checking out for Camper and also for other brands as well. They carry many many different ones.  Delivery is fast and free and sometimes you get shoes that are more discounted than in actual stores (the case of the first t pairs, in the store there were at least £15-£20 more).

You’re probaly thinking what are you doing buying sandals now that summer is almost over? Well, it is, in the UK. But not on other parts of the world. I’m going to be in warmer climates soon for holidays and work, so these would be perfect.

Do you own any Camper shoes?  Which ones are your favourites?
