My new Orla Kiely bag

I like this designer A LOT. Her designs are retr0, simple and  colorful. You can go to her website here. I’m sure you have seen her bags with the multi-stem design pretty much everywhere if you live in the UK.

Bags

Mugs

even on a bus!

Every season she comes up with new versions of this design and new designs that have nothing to do with the stem print. (I’ve blogged about my Orla Kiely make up bag before)

The bags in matt laminated fabric normally retail at around £130. They were at 50% off on sale so I decided to get one this year.

This is the one I got:

My new Orla bag

and this is the description from the website:

“Alpine Forest Midi Sling Bag

£128.00 £64.00

Matt laminated midi sling bag with coordinating large stem print cotton lining. Inside details include zip and mobile pockets and key chain. Magnet closure. Adjustable strap that allows the bag to worn as a shoulder bag or across the body.

Outer: 100% Cotton with PU coating
Trims: 100% Leather/100% Cotton
Lining: 100% Cotton”

As you can see this one is not particularly colourful but I like the pattern nonetheless.

I like the fact that all the bags have a key chain because I have a tendency to lose my keys.

See the nice ribbon key chain?

However, I don’t use the one that comes in the bag because I have my own one that I transfer from bag to bag (the fact that the keys are attached to the bag makes me less prone to forget them on the kitchen table…)

I’ve just checked the website and there are still bags on sale you you can still grab one of these for half the usual price (which I think s quite high eventhough the final quality of the bag is quite good)

I couldn’t help but check the SS11 bags and I love the new print!

Do you owe any Orla Kiely bag? Did you buy any in the sales?

Make up bags: Orla Kiely and H&M

I’m always very late with things and trends (and appointments also but this is not the time or place to discuss it…) but I’ve been curious for a while about eBay shopping. I love online shopping, I discovered that when I was living in New York and although I have drastically cut it here I still buy plenty of stuff online.

eBay has the fun of online shopping with the risk of bidding…

So, I decided to do some bidding and I got this nice Orla Kiely make up bag for less than half its retail price! (£26 including shipping charges)

I love Orla Kiely bags. This is from last years summer’s collection in a version of her superfamous stem multicolor print.

I wanted this as a new travel mini makeup bag. I like the fact that it has a lot of compartments. On the other hand this is kind of misleading, If you put stuff in all compartments (and I carry always more than I need) you won’t be able to close the zip! So not all the compartments are that useful…

So I think it’s very pretty and love the colors but it’s not that functional or I cannot carry in it as much as I would like. I will be using it together with other bags. In any case, for my latest trips I always use about three small(ish) bags like this instead of a huge one. I prefer it that way now…

I also recently bought another small makeup bag from H&M.

Sparkling Black

This was a total bargain, just £2! They also have it in red and thought about it but it’s a bit too much even for me. It has replaced my everyday makeup bag that I carry always with me with some of the basics (mirror, floss, blotting paper, gloss, eyeliner, face powder band-aids…).

The funny thing is that most of the time I forget I carry this with me so even if I could do some touch-ups before going to the pub straight from work or whatever I just gorget and go all shiny and with an 8h made up face…

Have you guys bought any nice things on eBay lately?

Redilicious: My new Mandarina Bag

This one is going to be a quickie (hopefully).

I went to Paperchase yesterday  to check out the new collection of Notebooks (see the Notebook page and the post below for more info).

I did buy a notebook but then I went to the third floor and discover a SALE corner that I didn’t know before…dangerous…

I saw a pile of computer bags, they didn’t seem much…

and then I saw this one:

Introducing my new computer bag

The picture doesn’t do it any justice though…

I LOVE:

-the color

-the front pocket were I can store the cords

-the yellow zipper holder/puller( however you call that yellow thingy)

LOVE the yellow thingy

It’s from Mandarina Duck, an italian bag brand very popular in Italy and Spain.

Mandarina Duck detail

Their bags are great but a bit pricey for not being leather.

The design is always great and funky, the materials are superdurable (I’m talking years and decades here!)

It’s for a 12 inches laptop so it will be a bit big for my 10″ netbook but I like the fact that there will be room for other things as well.

Price on sale: £20 (from £40) so 50% off. Very good deal I think.

Do you guys use any fancy laptop bag?
